“Akoi Grace. Ika of Africa. Kinimah Fajah Trending Artist of the Year. Portable Omolalomi newborn Fela. Wahala musician.
Big thanks to all my lovers outside Zazuu Akoi Million fans”.
In his award speech, Portable had promised to bring home Grammy Awards. This is hardly shocking because the artist has frequently stated that he will attend the Grammys.
Portable said that his song "Zazoo," which became a smash last year, was deserving of a Grammy award. The musician received a variety of responses when he claimed on his Twitter page that the song Zazoo, which launched him into the spotlight, deserved a Grammy.
Nigerian Twitter special adviser Daniel Regha criticized him, saying that his song was only well-liked in the streets. He declared that Zazoo is not a hit song and that it is not deserving of a Grammy candidacy or even a Headies consideration. He educated him by explaining how a popular song may last for generations.
According to Daniel Regha, any honor Zazoo would receive would result from politics within the industry. The popular Nigerian music awards show, The Headies, are put on by Smooth Productions, which was recently criticized by Portable.
After the 15th Headies Awards, which were successfully conducted in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Portable was one of the contenders for the Best Street-Hop Song award, which was won by Nektunez and Goya Menor. The singer addressed his conflict with the Headies organizers during a live Instagram chat with his followers. Portable admitted that he is only human and so fallible. He continued by saying that he has experienced a great deal of hurt throughout his life. He also criticized the Next Rated award category winner.
Portable wrote: “I Love It When Life Hard It Means Something Better Is Coming Nothing Pass GOD. I am bigger than the owner of Headies and the entire organizers. I will be more popular than them forever.”
Also attacking Buju BNXN for winning the next rated award, Portable argued that his songs are more popular than that of Buju. He further insisted that he is well known in the streets and also the highest-paid artiste in the trenches. He added that he earns over N4m per show in the trenches.
