As Raymond Dokpesi is finally laid to rest, Hilda Dokubo says a tearful farewell to him.

The Chairman of Daar Communications passed away on May 29, 2023. Punch reports that Dokpesi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, died in Abuja at the age of 71. He passed away in an Abuja hospital after having a stroke, according to a source. This allegedly occurred following the Ramadan fast. Before his untimely passing, the AIT chief had since been taking care of his health and had been started on occupational therapy to help him with his everyday responsibilities. The media gùru has finally been buried in Abuja, about a month after he passed away. Hilda Dokubo bid him evening while showing him video from the funeral celebrations. Hilda observed how he arrived, saw, and conquered, calling him her friend, teacher, and mentor.

“Finally Rested. Ezomo came, saw, and conquered. His work here on earth is done, the gap he left we do not know if it will ever be filled but we know when we remember him we will have reasons to smile, chat, laugh, and even cry. Thank God for all his goodness”.

Hilda Dokubo revealed her political aspirations last year. The veteran had decided to run for office alongside people like her coworkers Tonto Dikeh, Desmond Elliot, and others. Hilda Dokubo unveiled her poster and declared that she has submitted a written application to represent the Asalga Akulga federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking out about the critiques she faced for her political aspirations, Dokubo shared her response to any such criticism. The veteran said on her Instagram page that whenever she hears someone declare that "Nollywood isn't politics," she always chuckles.

She does not distinguish between actors quitting acting to pursue careers in politics or law. The veteran observed that people typically expect that someone will remain where they were when they were last seen.

“I laugh every time somebody says Politics is not Nollywood o, Hilda leaves politics and face acting. I laugh because it’s not too different from leaving acting and go study law. People will always assume that you will remain where they last saw you, that was why on the 3rd day the women returned to the tomb to seek Jesus, even when he informed them that he will rise on the 3rd day.
