Finally speaking out with evidence regarding an alleged N250,000 debt to the late Murphy Afolabi, Adunni Ade

Another record in the Nigerian film business was broken by Funke Akindele. She surpassed her own records for the highest-grossing movie in Nigeria.

Earlier in the day, Nollywood actress Adunni Ade was publically criticized for supposedly paying late actor Murphy Afolabi N250,000. Adunni Ade has now responded to the claims that she owes her late colleague. The actress was criticized by the actress' burial committee for owing money to Murphy Afolabi during the 8-day Fidau Prayer held in his honor. Before his passing, Murphy Afolabi allegedly owing Adunni Ade N250,000, according to the committee. They exhorted her to give the money back.

“Adunni Ade please return the N250,000 that you are owing the Late Murphy Afolabi”.

Adunni Ade responded to the claims that she was indebted to the late actor by denying them in a public statement released by her team. She claims that Murphy Afolabi contacted her for a job last year and gave her N150,000 in payment. She was unable to complete the project owing to the passing of her brother, and when the actor sought to come to another agreement with her, she returned his money. Adunni provided screenshots of her debit transaction to support her assertions.

Recall how Adunni Ade upset the Yoruba industry by alleging that they were given N90,000 to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential race. The movie diva with pale skin attracted a lot of haters and foes as a result of her allegations. Adunni Ade even broke down in tears after Koko Zaria, the leader of NURTW and an affiliate of MC Oluomo, publicly threatened her life. The movie star requested that the Nigerian and US governments hold the self-described American youngster accountable for any harm done to her life during her Instagram Live. Adunni Ade had played a YouTube video of Koko Zaria threatening to discipline her if they crossed paths on her Instagram Live.

He said, “If I say something against you, you would kill yourself. The two of you (referring to Adunni and Kemi Afolabi), should come and meet me at the station. If I get you, you will know, we would teach you a lesson”.

Adunni revealed that she had consulted with US Consulate, and sent a message to her lawyers and several appropriate channels in Lagos over his threat.
