The 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) began on Thursday, May 18 with an event called "Opening Night and Cultural Day." The ceremony officially began the run of events leading up to the award ceremony, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The BBNaija cast and Nollywood stars attended the occasion dressed to the nines. Mercy Aigbe, Juliet Ibrahim, Venita Akpofure, Prince Enwerem, Liquorose, and other celebrities who represented various cultural groups paraded down the red carpet in regal fashion.
