As Burna Boy loses, singer Tems creates history at the 2023 Grammys.

Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage as Tems, is now on the rise and just won her first Grammy. The Nigerian singer, who keeps reaching new heights and setting records, has won a Grammy for the first time ever. The artist received the prestigious accolade at the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony, which took place last night, February 5, 2023, at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena. She won the prize for her appearance on Future, an American rapper, and Drake's song "Wait for U." Tems has defeated Tiwa S@vage, Yemi Alade, and other Nigerian female singers to win the prestigious accolade with her most recent accomplishment.

Sade Adu, a British singer of Nigerian descent, has won four Grammys. Tems, however, holds the distinction of being the first Nigerian female musician to receive the prize because she refuses to identify as a Nigerian even when asked about her nationality. Tems had a fantastic night, but Burna Boy had a bad night, losing two Grammy prizes. The artist lost his Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album nominations. Burna Boy still holds a Grammy for Best Global Music Album from 2021, despite his loss. He won the prestigious award thanks to his album "Twice As Tall."

Tems made her fans happy the day before the Grammys by dining with power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z. One of the invited guests at the Roc Nation pre-Grammy Brunch was the vocalist of "Try Me." Many record labels had a pre-Grammy party before the Grammys to commemorate the award ceremony.  Celebrities attended a private party that American millionaire rapper and owner of the entertainment company Roc Nation, Jay-Z, gave in Bel-Air, Los Angeles. At the exclusive party, people including DJ Khaled, Offset, Kelly Rowland, Lil Kim, Chloe, Halle, and others were sighted. Tems, a multi-award winning singer from Nigeria, was also present and looked sharp in a white dress. Tems was spotted talking with power couple Jay Z and Beyonce during the brunch in videos that went viral.
