“Understand the spirit of Christmas and stop imitating others” BBNaija’s Maria tells Nigerians

Maria Chike Benjamin, a former housemate on Big Brother Naija's "shine ya eyes" season, has a message for Nigerians as they celebrate Christmas.

Maria questioned the cultural practice of Nigerians placing boxes and gifts under Christmas trees. She clarified that Santa departs the North Pole on December 24 to bring gifts to children.

Maria urged them to quit copying others and start appreciating the true meaning of Christmas.

Why do I see present boxes and gift

Did you forget that Santa leaves the North Pole on December 24 and brings your presents up your chimney or roof? Your humor is great. Recognize the true meaning of Christmas, but refrain from following others' examples.

While some people last year were having fun and celebrating Jesus Christ's birthday, others insisted that the day of December 25 had nothing to do with Christ's birthday.

Christmas, according to popular Nigerian on-air personality Daddy Freeze, has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, but those who celebrate it should still have fun.

They proclaimed it a holiday since the son of a European god was born today. So, Happy Holidays from us true Christians to the rest of you," he posted on his Instagram page.

"Hello everyone, while you party hard and eat lots of rice today, remember that although no one is stopping you from having your well-deserved end-of-year fun, this fun has NOTHING to do with Christ!" Daddy Freeze said. -1: Christ's birth did not occur on December 25.

2: Birthday celebrations by Christians, Jews, or other followers of God are not mentioned anywhere in the Bible, from Genesis to revelation. However, Pharaoh's birthday in Genesis 40:20 and Herod's birthday in Matthew 14:6–12 are two distinct examples of pagan birthday celebrations in the Bible.
