Basketmouth caves in to pressure after his wife rejects his divorce letter

Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, a Nigerian comedian and actor, has caved to pressure and deleted the Instagram post in which he announced his divorce.

Basketmouth, the father of four, sparked outrage with the news of his broken marriage on Thursday, December 22, 2022, where he promised to amicably co-parent with his wife in caring for their children.

The actor, who did not specify why they divorced, asked for the public to respect their privacy.

Many people were taken aback by the tragic news, noting how the comic was known for making pricey jokes.

Interestingly, his 44-year-old wife, Elsie, who appeared unconcerned about the public comment, moved to Instagram to address a hot debate regarding women cooking for their lovers.

Cooking for a man while dating is no big issue, according to the comedian's estranged wife, but a women must know her limits.

According to her, a lady must be cautious to recognize when a man is taking advantage of her, and cooking or doing housework for a man has no bearing on his decision to marry a lady.

She quietly confirmed that their marriage is in trouble after posting Christmas family photos without her spouse on Instagram.

Despite a torrent of comments and queries on her posts, Elsie ignored and refused to respond to her husband's divorce notice.

Basketmouth was forced to remove the divorce letter from his page as a result of the new event.

Meanwhile, an old video of Basketmouth and Elsie fighting divorce in an interview with Wedding Channel Africa has emerged on the internet. Basketmouth and Elsie pledged not to divorce throughout the interview.

The comic boasted that there are no excellent marriages that end in divorce, so he and Elsie can't divorce.

The pair declared that divorce is not an option for them because they love one other.
