 Yemi Alade, a musician from Nigeria, has discussed how she was robbed while performing over the weekend in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Yemi Alade expressed her regret for the robbery event on Instagram on Monday. She described how criminals broke into her hotel room, trashed her stuff, and grabbed all the cash they could find. She wrote: “A few minutes after I left my room, some unknown people decided to go through my things and steal: all the money they could find, Very good.”

Alade recently participated in and gave a performance at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend. For the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND), a 3-day gathering of creatives from Africa and the Diaspora, she recently flew to Côte d'Ivoire. The event is a precursor to the following Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) Summit at IATF2023, which is being hosted by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the African Union, and the Government of Côte d'Ivoire. However, in response to the worries of well-wishers, Alade stated that "they are looking into it, checking through cameras, and all that, but she knows the money is all gone by now.

“The suspects are all denying,” she retorted while shaking her head.

She joined with Effyzzie Music Group after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, and in 2014, her single "Johnny" became a hit. Since then, Yemi has risen to popularity in the music business and is now regarded as one of Africa's biggest performers. She started world tours immediately after the publication of her albums King of Queens and Mama Africa, both of which saw tremendous financial success.
