Singer Slami Ifeanyi shot dead in Anambra

 









Fast-rising singer and actor Slami Ifeanyi has been shot dead in Anambra State.

According to reports, unnamed gunmen shot the former Mr. Anambra Universe early on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was ambushed and slain in the Umuebre, Akwa neighborhood of the state capital while he was traveling alone in his recently purchased Lexus. A source disclosed:

"When it occurred, he was driving his brand-new automobile, which he had just two weeks prior. Even if we don't know why he was attacked, it appears to have been deliberate.

Friends of the musician have also posted condolences on Facebook.

Nwanya Bernard lamented the abrupt death of his friend in a letter.

"This again broke me to pieces! Dude was my man from way back when; he was talented, hard-working, and attractive. And today I learned that you had left Nigeria as a result. The future ambassadors are being devoured by the monster that a failed system created. St. Rita's Hostel's Slami Ifeanyi RIP, mate Soon! We'll reclaim our nation.

ItzMacarthy, a different Facebook user, wrote:

"Dear Slami Ifeanyi, I was stunned and grieved to learn of your passing. I recall that we first met in an Awka nightclub.

"You just invited me to sit at your table and we had drinks together. Despite your abilities and physical endowment, I first met you at performances where you were very straightforward. Well, when certain things occur, we cannot question God. May it please him to welcome you into his bossom just as it pleased him to summon you so abruptly. It's "Jee nke oma ezigbo!"

Eugo Franchice, another user, wrote:

I sincerely hope that your soul is at peace in the bosom of God. It's difficult to imagine your untimely passing and whatever the cause may have been because you were a kind friend who lived in peace. The Saddest News That Could Be Broken To Me Is How You Were Taken From Life, I'm Devastated & Emotionally Drained Beyond Words Can Say. To think that my brother Slami Ifeanyi is dead still shocks me.

Ifeanyi, who was born on May 27, just just debuted the music video for his brand-new song, "Chance," in which Nollywood actor Ken Erics appeared.
