Drama as other movie stars avoid Funke Akindele, including Eniola Badmus

Many of Funke Akindele's colleagues in the film business have distanced themselves from her political ambitions since she surfaced as Jandor's running mate for the PDP's governorship candidate in Lagos State. According to a check by the source, none of her coworkers—not even her sporadic bosom buddy Eniola Badmus—have promoted Funke Akindele's political aspirations on their Instagram accounts or participated in her campaign. The majority of them choose to align themselves with the dominant party in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress, leaving Funke Akindele to run her campaigns alone and without assistance from the entertainment sector (APC).

City People has finally revealed some of the explanations for Funke Akindele's isolation. She is a member of the Yoruba industry, however she hardly ever appears in Yoruba films. She only focuses on her own projects and English-language genre films. Additionally, the movie stars' rivalry would prevent them from supporting one another's political aspirations.

“Everybody wants to be on top, so supporting just one person to get to the top is too much of a risk for them. Besides, most of them depend on politicians for survival. To now go against politicians is too much a risk for the stars.” a source told City People.

Observers noted that Funke Akindele has always been a lone minder, who doesn’t keep friends in the industry. Whatever relationship she has with anyone in the industry is purely professional. However, it was discovered that Funke Akindele frequently offers her coworkers financial support when they need it. For instance, she made a donation to Kemi Afolabi's medical fund. When Bimbo Success became ill, she took care of her and paid her medical bills, among many other similar instances.

According to a credible source, MC Oluomo's influence in the Yoruba film industry prevents Funke from being supported.

“MC Oluomo is like a godfather to many in the Yoruba movie industry. He has been of great help to about 85 percent of stars in the industry. They often run to Oluomo in times of trouble, and he has never turned them down.

He provides financial support for their film premiere and other events, thus they are unable to oppose him in order to support Funke Akindele, the insider revealed. Additionally, it was determined that Lagos is an APC state, making it quite unlikely for any other party to prevail in the state's upcoming governorship race. Because of this, opposing APC in Lagos is like problems for the TAMPAN organization as a whole. Another source claimed that the Tinubu-led APC administration has consistently included movie stars in its initiatives, particularly Yoruba movie stars.

Moji Olaiya's funeral was paid for by Tinubu, who also paid to have her body returned to Nigeria and given a respectable burial. When the association immediately went to see Tinubu and informed him of their situation, he promptly provided them all the money they required for the funeral. Ngozi Nwosu, a famous actress, was also saved by the APC government in Lagos when she fell ill. Fashola covered her medical expenses. The APC administration has provided financial support to Olaiya Igwe as well. When Kemi Afolabi required money a few months ago to get medical treatment abroad,

MC Oluomo gave his fair share. In addition, Iya Awero received a property in Lagos from the APC government a few months ago. Instead of battling for something that could ultimately harm them, the movie stars would prefer to think about what would be beneficial to them first. Everyone in this situation must bear his own cross. Funke Akindele isn't the first movie star to get involved in politics, either. Tonto Dikeh, Desmond Elliot, Banky W, and a few more celebrities have entered politics as well, but neither they nor the industry gave them enough support.
