El-Rufai names a deputy to lead the GIS board.

 Kaduna State's Governor Nasir El-Rufai has named Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, his deputy, as the head of the board of the digital land registry's Kaduna State Geographic Information Service. According to a statement made in Kaduna on Friday by Mr. Muyiwa Adekeye, the governor's special adviser on media and communication, his principal approved the newly formed governing board. According to the announcement, Hajiya Hauwa Yahaya and Mr. Bulus Audu represent the southern and central senatorial districts of Kaduna, respectively, and Malam Lawal Mayere represents the Kaduna North senatorial district on the board. In the announcement, the service is represented by Dr. Zaid Abubakar, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna Internal Revenue Service, while the Ministry of Finance is represented by Accountant General Shizzer Bada. He added that members of the boards of the Ministries of Justice, Environment and Local Government, and Agriculture are also present, along with Madam Altine Jibrin, the Director General of KADGIS, and Alhaji Mahmood Aminu of KADGIS. The representative of the Kaduna Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture was also mentioned in the announcement as being on the newly formed KADGIS board. "KADGIS is one of the first institutions established in 2015 by the El-Rufai government, with the mandate to digitize the land registry and exercise responsibility for land management in the state," the Special Adviser stated.
