Tuesday Will Be a Work-Free Day For PVC Registration, Says Ogun State Governor

Ogun State employees have been granted one day off so they can sign up for their Permanent Voters Cards. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun issued the order after designating Tuesday as a day off from work in the state. This is as the voter registration date for the general elections in 2023 approaches. The governor made this announcement in a press release released by his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday in Abeokuta.

The one-day public holiday, according to Abiodun, "is to provide a window for all state employees who have either lost their cards, are not registered, or who may need to travel to their wards, local government areas, and constituencies to perfect their Permanent Voters Registration or transfer their cards, where necessary, to enable them to participate in the next general elections."

It is impossible to overstate the importance of PVCs to the citizens as an inclusive, participatory, and responsible government.

Therefore, the governor asked all eligible individuals to take advantage of the holiday to travel to their various wards and constituencies and look for their Registered Voter Cards, complete claims and objections forms, and transfer PVCs if needed.
