Radio station in Imo disputes closure by NBC

 The operator of the Ozisa FM Radio station in Owerri, Imo State, has refuted the rumor that the Nigeria Broadcasting Cooperation had stopped broadcasting on that frequency. Following the execution of 14 wedding guests on July 17 in Awomama, Oru East Local Government Area, Imo State, by Ebubeagu Security agents, news on Sunday spread like wildfire that NBC had shut down the radio station on the purported instruction of the state government. However, the radio station claimed that it had been "temporarily suspended" rather than closed down in a statement released in Owerri.
