Since Boboye Oyeyemi retired from service on July 24, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), has named Dauda Biu, the Deputy Corps Marshal, Finance and Accounts, Federal Road Safety Corps, as the acting Corps Marshal. This was said by Oyeyemi, the former Corps Marshal of the FRSC, on Monday in Abuja when taking over. This was said in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem. With effect from July 24, President Buhari named Biu as the acting CM, according to Oyeyemi, who wished him luck in his new role. Speaking, Board Chairman Mallam Bukhari Bello greeted the newly appointed Ag. CM and urged him to keep up the momentum and make sure the corps' mandates were carried out. Bello urged the newly appointed acting Corps Marshal to properly carry out the mission, noting that the previous Corps Marshal, Oyeyemi, had established a solid foundation and legacy. The Ag. Corps Marshal expressed his gratitude to the FRSC management and the Presidency for the appointment and pledged his devotion and zeal to properly carry out the FRSC mandate. Biu vowed to uphold the system and added that he would work to see that the FRSC's mandate was aggressively pursued in keeping with the goal.

Biu formerly served as the Deputy Corps Marshal, Finance and Account, at the FRSC headquarters before being appointed as the Ag. Corps Marshal on Sunday. He began his career with the FRSC in 1988 and had a successful career working in many formations. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a master's in business administration, and before to taking up the role of DCM in 2016, he served as Assistant Corps Marshal, Finance and Accounts.
