Anthony Ogunleye, the FCT's chief press secretary, cited him as having said these things in a statement late on Thursday. The statement said, in part, that the FCT Administration has taken action to re-energize the G7 security operations, which involved security collaboration and partnerships with states that are adjacent to the Federal Capital Territory. "According to the FCT CP, the resumption of G7 security operations would witness the start of security actions and processes by members of the G7, which will involve going after bandits and terrorists in their camps, which are primarily situated in states bordering the FCT.
"However, the Police Commissioner appealed for the involvement and cooperation of inhabitants of the FCT, whom he asked to submit actionable and timely intelligence to the security authorities as well as encouraging them to be security conscious at all times." He also urged the locals to continue with their legal activities while assuring them of their protection. "I'm also reassuring them that the FCT is safe," Babaji continued. Everyone in the community should conduct their legitimate business. We have control of the circumstance. We have both overt and covertly deployed our men, and we are doing everything we can to keep the FCT secure in coordination with all the security agencies, with the support of our traditional leaders and religious figures, he assured.
While confirming the CP, Ambassador Abu Mohammed, the Minister's Senior Special Assistant on Security, disclosed that the chiefs of the security services in the neighboring states were ready to actively participate in the G7 operations. Additionally, he warned locals to be cautious of fake news, particularly on social media, which is meant to frighten people.
According to The reports, the move is a response to the capital city's increasing sense of unease.
