Survey Rates Osibajo Ahead Of Atiku

According to a study of a recent state wide survey by the International Political and Research Organisation (IPRO) to establish who Nigerian citizens would want as their president in 2023, Vice President Yemi Osibajo was picked as the number one choice of Nigerians.

Dr. Ernest Ugbejeh, the coordinator/secretary, and Prof. Ike Ogba, the co-convener, both signed the poll.

Only two presidential candidates were featured in the IPRO poll: Prof Yemi Osibajo of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) (PDP).

According to the survey's findings, 59.3 percent of Nigerians countrywide would vote for Prof. Osibajo, while 40.7 percent would vote for Atiku.

The survey's respondents were asked a single question: who would they like to be Nigeria's next president in 2023: current Vice President Yemi Osibajo of the APC or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP?

A total of 5,000 names were chosen at random from a total of 5,000 names, with responders evenly distributed across the geopolitical zones, including every state in the federation. The study was conducted over the phone, with a 52 percent response rate. A 3% margin of error is guaranteed by the sample.

Similarly, Yemi Osibajo was the preferred choice in five of the six geopolitical zones, according to the data.

In the South-South, Osibajo received 74.4 percent of the vote, compared to 25.6 percent for Atiku Abubakar; he also led in the North Central (63.6 percent), South West (60 percent), North West (50.4 percent), and North East (57.1 percent), where Atiku is from (Adamawa).

Only one geopolitical zone, the South East, gave Atiku Abubakar a tiny advantage, with 54.3 percent to Osibajo's 45.7 percent.

Clearly, as the poll suggested, Vice President Yemi Osibajo was the clear winner in the overall results as well as in five of the country's six geopolitical zones." It demonstrates that Prof. Osibajo is the greatest candidate for the APC and Nigeria," said Ugbejeh, the IPRO survey coordinator.

Kachiukwu also promised to promote equal chances for men and women, as well as an upgraded teacher welfare package and a technology-driven education and healthcare system to prevent medical and education tourism abroad.

The ADC presidential candidate promised to fight corruption by ensuring that Nigerian workers are paid better wages and that contemporary cities with greater amenities, world-class health facilities, and inexpensive internet access are built throughout the country.

The ADC presidential front runner reminded delegates of the importance of the presidential tick in a broadcast made last night via his social media platform, saying they have a huge opportunity this week to elect a candidate of the party who has the ability to redirect the country's socio-political and economic focus.

Kachikwu, Moghalu, and Others Face Off In Abeokuta For ADC Presidential Ticket

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries are slated to take place in Abeokuta on Wednesday, with Hon. Dumebi Kachikwu, the creator of Roots Television Nigeria, and Prof Kingsley Moghalu, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as front-runners.

Dr. Mani Ibrahim, Hon. Joyce Ogochukwu Nsaka, Dr. Chike Okogwu, Dr. Chukwuka Monye, Lady Angela Johnson, Princess Chichi Ojei, Dr. Muhammed Lamido, Bishop Ify-George Oforkansi, Dr. Favour Ayodele, Evang. Ebiti Ndok Jegede, and others are among the other candidates.

However, an ADC chieftain labelled Kachikwu and Moghalu as the ticket's "sole genuine contenders."

Hon. Kachiukwu, a businessman and activist who announced his intention to run for President in the 2023 general election, selected 20 areas where if elected, he would make a significant difference in the lives of Nigerians and the country.

The Delta State politician, who claims he is on a "rescue mission" to resurrect what the All Progressives Congress has savaged in the last seven years, claimed he is on a "rescue mission" to resurrect what the APC has savaged.

What the All Progressives Congress had wrecked in the previous seven years, vowed to implement broad-based public-sector reforms to combat corruption and win the war on terror.

He vowed to channel the tremendous energies of youths towards useful endeavours such as trading with their technical talents rather than engaging in 'yahoo' scams.

He stated that if elected President, he would work with state governments to invest in power generating and broadband internet infrastructure, while limiting governmental and private sector activity to distribution alone.

"Together, we can develop a new cuisine for our people," Kachikwu remarked. We shall reconstruct Nigeria from the ground up, removing the defective and antiquated colonial basis that currently underpins our existence.

As Nigerians, we must establish our common charter and form a new nation that is not only inclusive of everyone, but also guarantees equal rights and expression to all, regardless of tribe, tongue, or religion."

"Any other identification must come after this new Nigeria." As we eliminate the colonial artefacts of division, mistrust, and hostility, it will be our common bond."

He added that the government is and should be a big brother, not a big bully, and that millions of citizens still need access to electricity and safe drinking water in 2022. This is inexcusable.

Prof Moghalu, on his part, has pledged to "protect Nigeria and the lives and properties of Nigerians in the North, South, East, and West of our country" if elected in 2023.

"I will have the political will to ensure the security of our country." This entails prioritising our security above all else: without security, there can be no country. Political will is defined as the willingness and ability to make difficult decisions in order to safeguard Nigeria, including not succumbing to or being mislead by vested interests who may profit from Nigeria's status as a killing field.

"It also entails prioritising Nigeria's security before ethnic and religious considerations." It means putting Nigerians' lives and the country's territory first, no matter where they are in the country," he explained.

By raising the size of the Armed Forces, Moghalu added that as President of Nigeria from 2023, he will secure Nigeria and the lives and properties of Nigerians in the north, south, east, and west of the country.
