When is Eid Fitr 2022? The moon is not sighted

The guardians of Islamic holy sites, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stated that the moon has yet to be spotted and that Eid-el-Fitr 2022 will be observed on Monday, May 2nd.

In India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and other Arab countries, similar statements have been made and the same same day has been declared for the celebration.

On Saturday, the Shawwal crescent was not visible anywhere in the Muslim world. Not even in Nigeria, where many Muslim faithful await the Sultan of Sokoto's proclamation.

Sheikh Habeeb Adam El-Llory, the Mudeer Markaz, however, has declared Monday, May 2nd, as Eid-el-Fitr day.

The crescent moon of Shawwal was not observed in the UAE on Saturday, according to the UAE Moon Sighting Committee, hence Sunday, May 1, will be the first day of Shawwal.

According to the UAE Moon Sighting Committee, because the crescent moon of Shawwal was not observed in the UAE on Saturday, Ramadan will end on Sunday, May 1, 2022, and Eid Al Fitr will begin on Monday, May 2.

Because the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and European countries rely on the Saudi Arabian Royal Court to proclaim the moon, Muslims in those countries will also celebrate Eid with the Gulf states.

On May 1, 2022, the Shawwal crescent is projected to be visible in London, Morocco, South Africa, Spain, and other nations under ideal weather circumstances.

Eid-el-Fitr 2022 will be observed in these nations on Monday, May 2, 2022, if valid moon sighting reports are obtained.
