Chidi Mokeme describes ordeal after escaping robbery attack in Lekki

Chidi Mokeme, a veteran Nollywood actor, has avoided an attack by unknown individuals in the Lagos State neighbourhood of Lekki.

On Instagram, Mokeme described his incident, saying he was on his way to the airport to board an international trip when he was double-crossed.

His car was smashed and his glasses were destroyed, and he believes the criminals were after his Louis Vuitton luggage in the rear seat.

"So here I was, caught in Lagos traffic, in front of VGC to be specific, wondering if, and when, I was going to make it in time for my international flight, praying my driver makes it there before me to pick up the car (he had gone)," Mokeme wrote alongside a video of his damaged automobile.

One part of my brain was focused on manoeuvring the truck, and the other was perplexed as to how Lagos inhabitants always manage to turn a two-lane road into a twelve-lane road and stay alive!

With my eye like this, Google Maps was recalculating my ETA from 2 hours to 3 hours and increasing, and I hadn't even driven 100 metres."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, I observed a white Honda Accord attempting to box me in, and someone leapt in front of my vehicle and began signalling "Stop there, I say stop there."

In that split second, I had assessed the situation – plain clothes, no uniform, hand reaching inside pants, accomplice running over from the other side of the road, getaway car idling, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took the only option, I took

"I caught a fleeting sight of the man in the back, and the next thing I heard was a massive explosion, glass shattering and shrapnel flying everywhere."

My initial thought was, 'What the Fk?' Because'stopping' is the expected and predictable reaction, I refused to do so. All my brain told me was to keep moving and take command of the situation." "DO NOT STOP." But I was so desperate for blood that I could taste it in my stomach. Do you know what I did? "Focus on getting my flight, so I kept it moving," I did the only thing that made #ChidiSense to me.

The actor went on to thank everyone for their thoughts and to say that he arrived at the airport safely.
