Jubilation as D’banj is released from ICPC custody

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has released popular singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, also known as Dbanj, after nearly 72 hours in custody.

Keep in mind that D'banj was detained on Tuesday by the anti-graft agency due to fraud allegations against the N-Power program.

The singer was let go on Friday afternoon, December 9th, according to a new update. However, the ICPC can summon the singer at a later time.

According to Pelumi Olajengbesi, his attorney, the singer assisted the Commission in its investigation.

Mr. Olajengbesi mentioned that Dbanj was freed on the basis of self-recognition, but he did not confirm whether the ICPC granted administrative bail to the singer.

Additionally, he stated that the ICPC could not locate any evidence of fraudulent activity involving the singer.

He lacked any evidence of any kind. Based on self-recognition, he was released. "We have always maintained that D'banj is innocent of the charges brought against him, so we expect the ICPC to issue a letter of clearance right now," he stated.

Sahara Reporters were informed by a source that "The musician is planning to speak out soon."

Keep in mind that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) was defended by D'banj's legal team.

The commission had asserted that the Oliver Twist crooner had been “ignored and not honored” several invitations to appear before an investigation team.

His Associate Group Head, Suit, Regulation Hall, Maryam Musa, in an explanation on Wednesday, said, as an issue of strategy, D'banj and his administration don't participate in transactions "except if they are genuine, appropriately recorded and reachable in regulation."

However, the attorney acknowledged the ongoing ICPC investigation into alleged N-Power funds diversion.

Musa went on to say that despite the fact that Dbanj had been officially invited by the ICPC to participate in the investigation a month ago, he had written letters to the commission through his attorneys detailing his schedule in South Africa and promising to visit the commission when he returned.
