'Surviving R. Kelly' documentary features victims of the singer as they share harrowing details of sex abuse
For over 20 years, R. Kelly has been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct and abuse but he has so far denied all the allegations.
This week, a documentary produced by Lifetime is exploring the allegations brought against Robert Kelly.
Multiple alleged victims of the singer, including his ex-wife Andrea Kelly all featured in the documentary and they spoke about their ordeal.
As expected, a lot of tears were shed as the women recounted the alleged abuse - sexual, mental, emotional, and physical - which they suffered in the hands of R. Kelly.
The documentary, made up of six parts, includes commentary from R. Kelly’s critics, including the founder of the #MeToo movement, Tarana Burke, and the singer John Legend.
The docu-series has gained attention and is being widely debated on social media, with a lot of people saying the singer has escaped the consequences of his actions for far too long. There were also those who came to the defence of the singer.
Below are previews of the docu-series which began showing from January 4 to Jan 6.
