If the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, thought she was being frugal by wearing an old dress to the wedding of her brother-in-law on Saturday, she was mistaken.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were joined in holy wedlock on Saturday at St Georges Cathedral at Windsor Castle.
The mother-of-three is known to sometimes repeat her ensembles, including shoes, but her choice of an old dress whose colour is also a subject for debate, has been met with condemnation and commendation alike. While everyone felicitated Meghan and Harry, Kate received quite some tongue-lashing for wearing what an observer said was a dress which she had worn on two previous occasions. People express concerns that the occasion was an international event involving her own husband’s only brother, Harry, and superstar-turned-British royalty wife, Meghan Markle. The comments were ignited by a tweet from Elizabeth Holmes, who describes herself on her Twitter handle as a “roving reporter with over 10 years covering style, retail and politics.” See Holmes’ tweet:
And here’s what people are saying about Kate’s royal wedding wardrobe choice: Some ridicule her thriftiness:Kate wearing a dress she has worn TWICE before. Charlotte's christening and the Queen's birthday. #RoyalWedding— Elizabeth Holmes (@EHolmes) May 19, 2018
Truly the nicest gesture she could show her now sister-in-law. Absolutely nothing to see here! Focus on the bride! pic.twitter.com/WQ0Vq8QfB0

*Also, a dress she has worn to “family” events. A subtle nod, as well.— bunny brewster (@smartsassylib) May 19, 2018
